Her Name Was Carmen starring Irina Kolesnikova and the soloists and corps de ballet of the St Petersburg Ballet Theatre with the Orchestra of English National Opera
'Truly a thing of remarkable beauty... [Irina Kolesnikova] alone is worth the ticket' Daily Telegraph on Swan Lake
'A rare phenomenon' Sunday Express on Swan Lake
Following last year’s sell-out season, world's leading ballerina Irina Kolesnikova returns
to the London Coliseum with a new take on an old classic, Her Name Was Carmen.
Fiery, rich and beautiful, Carmen is a deadly cocktail of passion and tragedy. After her family is brutally murdered, Carmen finds shelter in a refugee camp on the outskirts of Europe... here she becomes entangled in a love triangle with tragic consequences.
Her Name Was Carmen is a new full-length ballet in two acts brought to life by 50 dancers from the critically acclaimed St Petersburg Ballet Theatre. It is set to a re-orchestrated version of Bizet's much-loved score, and is played live by the orchestra of English National Opera.
