17-time Grammy Award winning artist Sting will perform in this new production of his musical, The Last Ship; featuring a new book by Barney Norris and direction by Leo Warner with Set and Video Design by 59 Studio.

Rooted in his own childhood in the British shipbuilding town of Wallsend, The Last Ship tells the moving story of a community of shipbuilders in the North East of England, faced with the closure of their shipyard – the heart of their existence.

Sting takes on the role of Jackie White, the shipyard’s foreman whose health is failing just as his leadership is needed most. In this very personal show, the artist immerses the audience in the hometown he was desperate to escape, a world where love, loss, and hope intertwine.

Sting’s beloved songs such as Island of Souls, All This Time, and When We Dance are woven into the performance in this fully staged, large-scale production featuring a company of over 50.

The Last Ship has been seen across the globe this year, with hugely successful runs in Amsterdam, Brisbane, Paris, and Metropolitan Opera in New York this June with Sting performing in every show.

But they caught me in the West End
Saw me walkin' down Drury Lane (wasn't me)
I even took a bow with Sting
They even caught me on the stage (wasn't me)

It wasn't us expecting this collaboration to dock in the West End! Global reggae star Shaggy will reunite with Sting in the West End this autumn, appearing in The Last Ship  for two performances only at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Shaggy will reprise his role as the Wallsend Ferryman opposite Sting, who stars as Jackie White in the newly reimagined 2026 production of the musical.

Following a global tour, The Last Ship sails into London for a limited engagement from 22 September to 3 October 2026. Shaggy will appear on opening night, 22 September, and at the gala performance on 23 September, while Sting will perform throughout the full run alongside his ongoing STING 3.0 World Tour.
